ROBOTICS


ROBOTICS:

  • The word Robotics come from CZECH Language...
  • Robotics literal meaning is Worker..
  • But our perception is any machine having certain mechanical movement through electronic circuits and software is termed as robot.

BASIC ANATOMY:

Mechanical Linkage: Gears, wheels, arms all these things we can say mechanical linkage..

Actuators & Transmission: actuators means it provide link between mechanical and electrical..
as we know transmission is nothing but buses cables etc..

Sensors: converts one form of energy to other form e.g., Ir sensor etc..

Stepper Motor: It is used to provide rotational motion or step motion etc..

User interface & software: control overall working task..

Power conversion Unit nothing but providing power supply

NEXI




  • A humanoid robot created by MIT(Massachusetts institute of technology)
  • It can able to show various facial expression such as anger, surprised etc..
  • It is designed by Xi tome design.(an innovative design for cutting edges for robots like hand neck etc..) the expression started  wit a neck mechanism sporting 4 degree of freedom at the base
  • The chassis of Nexi also advanced it has been developed bt laboratory of perceptual robotics U MASS..
  • It is an MDS robot MDS- Mobile-Dexterous_Social robotic platform that combines mobile manipulation with verbal a& non verbal human interaction  capabilities
  • Features: it has self balancing wheels, it hand which can be used to manipulate objects, eyes (video camera),ears(an array of microphone) and 3D infrared camera and laser range finder which support real time tracking of objects, people & Voice
  • "This project is funded in part by an ONR DURIP Award "Mobile, Dexterous, Social Robots to Support Complex Human-Robot Teamwork in Uncertain Environments", Award Number N00014-06-0516. It is also funded in part by a Microsoft Research Grant."
