Gi-Fi

Gi-Fi

Gi-Fi - Gigabit Fidelity
Gi-Fi is a wireless technology that has data transfer rate of gigabit per second.
It is also called as gigabit wireless technology.
It is the advancement of Wi-Fi technology. Wi-Fi has data transfer rate of megabits per second.
It is the world's first transceiver that is integrated on a single chip i.e., it has both transmitter and receiver on a single chip
Its operating frequency is 60GHz.
It will send the audio and video data at 5 gigabits per second, ten times higher than current wireless transfer rate.
It has low cost and low power consumption.
By near future this Gi-Fi technology will dominate wireless network.
The main reason for unpopularity of this technology is due to its shorter range.
As the range is limited to shorter distances only we can expect the broad band with same speed and low power consumption.
